We made it to Edinburgh, but you wouldn't know that by reading our blog (up 'till now). Thank you for posting the comments. As many of you readers know we had originally decided not to post a blog and decided not to bring a computer (we didn't own a laptop), but at the last minute we decided to post a blog and we bought a laptop! As fate would have the brand new laptop (that we didn't buy the Best Buy super support plan for) is acting up and goes between not starting and shutting itself down so we haven't been able to post. Our B&B hosts have offered their laptop and internet connection to us.
There are several pics to share - we found Abraham Lincoln over here! Taber has been writing a detail filled post, but it is on the other computer and we hope to post that soon.
We're having a great time and really enjoying ourselves - more details to come soon. Here is a quick overview - We've eaten a scottish breakfast, ridden on a double decker tourist "tour of Edinburgh" bus, taken public transit, navigated jet lag successfully, drank whisky (only Taber), walked the royal mile, discovered and ate wonderful chocolate rasberry cake, ate fish and chips and took a stroll in the rain.
Thanks to "anonymous" for the jokes! We'll be sure to share with all the Scots that we meet.

It is great to hear you arrived safely and are already enjoying the joys of Scotland. Reggie and Parker are doing well. They are getting lots of love and attention from the housesitters who are appreciating how sweet and easy they are to cohabitate with! :)
ReplyDeleteGlad you arrived safe but Whiskey, fish and chips, raspberry cake....oh criminy! What about the haggis? That's what you should be eatin'
ReplyDeleteA little haggis humor for ya:
Maitre d': "Are you here for a special occasion?"
MacDonald: "Aye, we won the third prize in the annual Robert Burns Contest - a haggis dinner for two."
Maitre d': "What were the other prizes?"
MacDonald: "The second prize was a single haggis dinner, and, if you won the first prize, you didn't have to eat the haggis."
Thanks for your update, glad you're getting your feet wet in the olde country . Sorry about the laptop problems - keep trying .
